As the market winds down to a close, stocks have continued their upward climb due in part to the idea that Washington might be nearing a compromise on the debt ceiling issue, as well as the fact that some of the corporate earnings that came out today have been somewhat positive. While we are still in the early stages of 2nd quarter earnings reports, these are definitely the type of earnings releases that as market participants we need to see. After the markets close today, several important technology companies, mainly Apple and Yahoo will come out with their earnings reports. Depending on how well the numbers are when they come out, tomorrow could be another good day.
I'll be reading through all the reports and listening to conference calls this afternoon and will get back in the morning with a summary of what I find out.
