TGIF

To be honest, I really have nothing to write about with respect to the market and any economic numbers that have come out today.  Over night, GDP (gross domestic product - economic growth) numbers out of Germany showed continued weakness on the other side of the pond (Atlantic Ocean).  This is to be expected as Europe is struggling under the weight of the financial instability that has plagued many of the countries.

In looking at individual stocks that I'm monitoring, Yahoo announced this morning that they would be laying off employees starting next week, restructuring the company, and exploring strategic alternatives..blah blah blah.  I've heard this out of them before, but I still believe Yahoo will eventually be acquired by another technology company or a private equity firm (which along with their Asian assets/businesses, is one of the reasons I own the stock).  Other than that, it's a pretty slow friday afternoon in the market place, with volume being pretty low as most investors and money managers calling it a day...

I'd like to wrap up my post today by wishing everyone who's bought lottery tickets good luck and I hope you win the 600+ million dollar prize..and just in case you do win, I love the Caribbean, Italy, and Mexico and I'd be more than happy to accompany you on any and all vacations you decide to take.

Here's a link for all those who've participated in the lottery drawing (just click on the link below).  Enjoy and have a good weekend!
