Better late than never, but I'd like to congratulate my parent's, Pattie and Gary Heady, on a happy 37? wedding anniversary...to start off, I'd to go ahead and say that my two sisters, Taylor and Caroline and I could not have been more blessed to have more (and understanding/forgiving) in my case) parent's that we could have asked for. Their love is something to be admired...they were married following a short courting period where they were married in a small and quaint ceremony in my mother's parent's back yard. While I was only a thought, (and a great one), I've seen pictures, and while mom and dad looked like the most adorable 1970's married couple, think of the image, they passionately loved each other ever since. They enjoy a love and a best friendship that I desire to have as I grow older....not saying they haven't had their differences...for example, my father loves ice cream, while my mother loves to do crafts and monogram and such; needless to say dad spends several evenings enjoying his ice cream while mom is enjoying her craft making. My father is my mentor and I pray one day I will be the father and friend that he is to me; he's the smartest man I've ever known (although tough). I'm blessed to work with him and I strive on a daily basis to please him. My mother, while an incredible woman, is tough to please (as are most women I've learned), I've learned and admired how my father puts his love and compassion for her before his own. That is true love...putting your loved one's personal wants and needs ahead of your own;
I'm a blessed, blessed son, as I know my sisters (and brother-in-laws) are; despite the ups and downs of raising a family, running a company, and putting up with their oldest child (me), my parents have stood by each other through it all.
If you are fortunate enough to share the love that my parents have shown one another and myself and my sisters...then you are LUCKY....
Mom and Dad I love you, and I pray that one day I will wake up and my children will see the love and friendship that you have enjoyed for so many years...
On a side note, my second niece, Harper Leigh, is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow so we're all looking forward to welcoming her to the family (which means there will be less gifts for me at Christmas).
